Flu Vaccine Available
We now have FluMist and flu shots available.  Please call our office to schedule an appointment for flu vaccine.  We will be continuously updating our flu clinics this fall to offer multiple opportunities for vaccination.  The 2010-2011 flu vaccine protects against three different flu viruses: an H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season.  FluMist is given to patients aged 2 years to 49 years who are otherwise healthy.  Any child with a chronic medical condition should receive the injected vaccine unless otherwise directed by your physician.  Children aged 6 months to 8 years who did not receive at least 1 dose of the 2009 H1N1 vaccine, who have never received a seasonal influenza vaccine before, or who were vaccinated for the first time with 2009-2010 vaccine but who received only 1 dose should receive 2 doses of the 2010-2011 influenza vaccine formula, spaced 4 or more weeks apart.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare has issued a recall of products including Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl and Zyrtec.  Please click on the following link for more information and for lot numbers of the recall.  The company states that no adverse medical events have occurred and are doing this as a precautionary measure due to variable concentration of active medication and/or particulate matter in the liquids.
